Column Filter Prompt


Column Filter Prompt is a prompt,it is used provide a general filtering of a column in a request. in other words it used to filter all the views in particular request.we can set all choice or constrained choice for a column.it can be combined with other column filter prompt.

Adding a column filter prompt to report:
step 1: select prompt tab in answers.
step 2:in create filter prompt button,select column filter prompt
step 3:Enter the caption and description
step 4:select column name and filter
step 5:select way in which user should choose values, drop down list or Browse through choices and/or type in directly
step 6:select way values that should be shown to the user
none:user must type values(not allowed with drop down) all values , limited values and sql results,limited choice is useful when prompting for multiple columns,it prevents a user from choosing values that would result in no data.
step 7:ability to constrain choices and skip prompt.
